It's what I tell my kids ALL the time. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. Great job by the way.

vidkid12 Jul 27th 2008 4:01pm

That was very wonderful!!! Well done!! You definitely have a spot at Aardman one day buddy! I bet! Nice job on the lips moving in sync with the words!!!! =) :D

Luffse Jul 27th 2008 5:17pm

thats just amazing!! how long did it take to do the movie? how many fps is used? if 24? do you take 2 each time or is it only 1?

iantimothy Jul 27th 2008 6:19pm

Thanks everyone! Luffse- It took about two months to shoot but there were a bunch of technical setbacks and problems. I use iStopMotion 2 to capture the frames and iMovie to edit. I used 24 fps, but sometimes i would shoot 2 frames for slower movements.

666joshy666 Jul 28th 2008 3:55pm

Iantimothy, do you use the basic, express or pro version of Istopmotion, as I also own an apple macintosh computer?

iantimothy Jul 28th 2008 6:50pm

i use istopmotion 2 express

Drifter Jul 30th 2008 12:24pm

Awesome antimation indeed! I agree with the others, the lip sync was perfect! The story line well thought out, and the morale of the story was strong. Nice job on bringing down the lighting during the thunderstorm. The background sounds and audio were well matched to the action. I'm still tapping my foot to "Down on Beaver Creek". Keep up the great works!|-) Looking forward

This is really a GREAT.........animation. I'm sure it took a lot of work & I love the Beaver Creek Song.

animator45 Aug 1st 2008 11:46am

All i can say is WOWWWW!

I love the set and i like the voices did you record the voices?

How did you do the raining effect? and how many frames was that?

Have you got any other videos?

Sorry for all the questions!:D

iantimothy Aug 1st 2008 12:31pm

Thanks! my dad did the voice of the characters and we pitched them up. the rain is an effect i have in a program called imovie. It was 24 FPS. I have done some other little tests since i was about 11 but this is the only one on the internet.

Teouline Aug 1st 2008 6:55pm

I know a lot of work went into this great production. I am so impressed that you not only started, continued and finished the project (at your age, persistence is not always a virtue), but that it is so beautifully done. Congratulations on a fine product and an incredible first attempt! T.Showalter

animator45 Aug 2nd 2008 4:55am

Thanks Ian for your reply,

The effects are just great i would love to be able to do movies like that have a look at my movie that i have made- benwhite.info then go to video cinema,

auntgayle Aug 3rd 2008 7:43am

This is AMAZING!!!!!! Well Done!!! It looks totally professional. We loved the explosions, and the storm, and the way the beaver and duck look at each other! The lip syncing is perfect, as is the comic timing. Also, the story line is really funny---we laughed so hard that the instructions referenced cocoons---very clever! (and we never saw it coming!)

We can't wait for the next episode....

Jamie Q Aug 5th 2008 3:58pm

this is awsome! how did you make things fly thu the air, and how did you make your mini boxes and instructions? please reply!!!

iantimothy Aug 5th 2008 4:32pm

Thanks, for the flying I took a picture of the duck and the pill, cut them out in photoshop then animated them in a program called flash. For the boxes and instructions, they where made in illustrator which is a drawing program, and then printed out.

animator45 Aug 7th 2008 4:03pm

Well Done!!

I am making a set but i need to make the realistic trees like you have on your video, i would like to know how you made the trees so ralistic? What materials did you use to make the tress the twigs eg.

iantimothy Aug 7th 2008 10:11pm

Thanks. The trees are actually just sticks from my yard, with plastic greenery on them. The pine trees are Christmas decorations, and the twigs are little tiny sticks.

wallacey Aug 16th 2008 1:02pm

Fantastic I am working on an animation at the moment! Any tips?

Jamie Q Aug 17th 2008 4:08pm

also, how did you do your lip sync, cz wen i do it i just take loads of photos and stretch out the odd photo that needs to be held longer for the word, and i figure it out on the suite, but how do u do it so it just flows nicely with the sound??
sorry to ask too many questions lol!

Jamie Q Aug 17th 2008 4:11pm

and how did you do the theme song?

iantimothy Aug 17th 2008 6:13pm

Thanks! Wallacey- You need to work really hard on the story, you will need a camera with manual focus, so it doesn't focus on you whenever you walk in front of it, i put up a curtain in my room to keep the light from flickering, and you will an armature is also very important too. if you need any other tips just ask

Jamie Q- I use itopmotion, and i pull in the audio to there and it shows me the waveforms and i listen to it frame by frame to match it up. And my dad is a musician, so he recorded the theme song for me.

W&G MAD Aug 18th 2008 7:52am

when will you next animation be pleace let me no

im a big fan could u geve me some tips

iantimothy Aug 18th 2008 3:13pm

I am working on Episode 2 right now, it will be posted probably in a couple months. what kinda tips do ya want.

Jamie Q Aug 21st 2008 7:55am

oh thats cool, so you listen to the wave things and work out how that will fit before you film?
do you do like a chart saying like frame 1-B, frame 2-EA, frame 3-VER etc??

Jamie Q Aug 21st 2008 8:00am

also please look on my youtube channel and tell me what you think! just search jamiequinlan on channels

iantimothy Aug 21st 2008 3:27pm

i don't make charts or anything but i just look at the sound waves and match the mouth to that, i really liked your videos, especially sarah the slug, and Cats and Dogs, the lip synch is really good!

PoisonIvy Aug 23rd 2008 2:03am

Okay it was good, but why can't you take cocoons near it for twenty-four hours??? 4/6

frangipanilover Aug 31st 2008 4:12am

dat is so cute!!! GREAT work!!:D

ilovehutchaaw Sep 6th 2008 3:35pm

Purple&Brown Sep 7th 2008 11:08am

Do u hav 2 pay for istopmotion 2 express

iantimothy Sep 7th 2008 4:08pm

yeah, you have to buy it. istopmotion 2 is 50 dollars but express is 99 dollars, and you can download a 5 day demo to make sure you like it first.

Purple&Brown Sep 13th 2008 3:51am

how did u make the storm it lookd gr8

iantimothy Sep 13th 2008 8:18am

The storm was done in a combination of ways, the rain was done in iMovie, it has a rain effect, the water dripping down the characters were little beads, and then i used rain sound effects to make it sound real.

Purple&Brown Sep 13th 2008 12:00pm

iantimothy Sep 15th 2008 3:02pm
