Thanks Mm93, glad you like him! i haven't uploaded anything for a while, but have more models to upload soon. for all my models, i use the three tools i got from the W&G modelling kit- theyre really effective, especially for smoothing out small areas. the main body and hat are fimo clay, (hardened as otherwise it dissolves plastic), with a wire frame. the hands, head and boots are regular plasticine. for smaller details, i tend to just look around the house for suitable things to use: the buttons are pin heads pushed into the clay, then painted. the belt buckle is made from stuff called plasticard, which you can buy from most independant model shops. it's brilliant because you can cut it with scizzors, file it and paint it after! hope you found these tips useful!

Cheers everyone for all your comments, theyre great! unfortunately, i cannot move him to animate- i havent really made a stop motion film yet but i have a few ideas! definately something to consider as the films people have uploaded to this site are awesome! if you do make stop motion films, could you tell me what software you use please?

great job! Was this particular Wallace from a kit too? I understood the tools were from a kit. If it wasn't from a kit, great eye for detail!

no, this one wasnt- i do have an airfix anti-pesto van which came with a wallace, but i havent got round to making him yet!

how did you get the face to look exactly like him. I think you could make your own fimlms with your models and even work for Aardman, Oh yeah how long did it take to make the face??

look you didnt make it that is why it has a white background u got it of of the internet i saw it on it

sorry cutiepopjade, but the white background is my wall, and he is standing on paper to hide my worksurface! as for the face, it's just practice really. this is one of several wallaces i've made (take a look at my other creation 'a grand day out' and you can see the changes i've made!). also, with this wallace, i tried a different way of making him which i feel works really well- before, i made him by making the shape of his head and then scraping out his mouth shape. this time, i used the way i saw on a W&G documentary, where i make the main head shape first, with a space where the mouth should be. then, i rolled a thin tube of clay and joined the ends to create the shape of his mouth. i joined this to the front of his face and smoothed the edges. finally, i used clay to fill in the back of his mouth and added the teeth

in answer to bigballbubblehead, ive been making models for years, since i was about 5- my nan used to buy me plasticine and i'd spend hours making small models, but ive only made proper figurines and characters for the last few years. my first real attempt was when i got free placticine to make gromit with the W&G comic some time ago. i also got the modelling kit for christmas and made my first wallace and hutch. then, my gromit was printed in the comic and i won another modelling kit, and from there it pretty much became my main hobby!

Wallace is wonderful !!!How did you make it??? He is like original sorry for bad grammar...I´m from Czech Republic

ooh i do like a bit of gorgen zola, tastes like feet, my favourite. your model good but not great, i mean i can see some areas of weakness you know like for example:
1. his right index finger is too small
2. his bottom teeth arn't right
3. the colour of the clothes is not right
4. the background is boaring
5. your yellow
6. you smell
7. i like poo
8. you don't like poo
9. you don't have a proper beard
10. i do

but overall 6/6

it's exactly the same as Aardman's work, it's a great job. Your modelling skill is marvellous , I am really impressed by yourt recent hutch and wallace model.

well michael where do you buy the beads from

really great software is claymation studio. it has onionskin where it puts ur previous image over the image ur about to take so u move it just the perfect amount. it also has chroma key which allows u to put a background on top of the blue screen (it comes with the blue screen background.) it also allows you to speed up the pace of ur animation and add in voices with the audio setup. again it's called claymation studio you can find it on www.honest.com or on amazon.co.uk! Really hope u buy it. You like you'd be a great animator

also are you in the UK. because i've heard of plasticine but i think they only sell it in the UK. and if you are from america please tell me where you picked that plasticine up from.
