Wow! That's amazing. How did you make them, Cavor?

cavor Dec 18th 2007 12:49pm

Thanks for the great feed back!

If you have patience there is no end to what you can achieve.
I believe I have a fair bit of patience!

I'm hoping to post a bit of a step-by-step guide on the 'Pictures of models you have made' thread over the Christmas holiday.:D

WOW really great models please gine us tips and what clay do you use:O

cavor Dec 18th 2007 3:44pm

I use newplast plastecine.

First off I got hold of a picture of Wallace and scaled it up to the size I wanted (10"), then made templates from card for hands & face from this photo.
Next I got pictures of as many angles of Wallace I could find.
If you break things down in stages it becomes easy and workable.
:D

Hey cavor
luvin ur it's rly gr8. can u draw as well??? pls giv me some tips

cavor Dec 20th 2007 5:28pm

I posted a small character picture in the forum, i'm not great at drawing but I get by. http://www.wallaceandgromit.com/forum/read/497#message_26073

If you are copying something or someone spend 2 thirds or more of your time studying what you are drawing.

If say you are drawing a character out of your head don’t get to passionate about your first drawing, get a few sketchy lines down on paper eg: a fat stomach, funny hat, big nose etc, I usually do 2 or 3 drawings building from ideas from the first couple of drawings.

:D

very good, will definatley win decembers competition

Modelmaker93 Dec 28th 2007 1:57pm

oh yeah Cavor What colour newplast is wallace head

cavor Dec 28th 2007 3:29pm

I had to mix the light pink I had with a little tan/orange colour plus I think I added a bit more white.
I remember conty say that he orders 2 or 3 flesh or skin colour bars each time he gets a batch of plasticene.
Hope this helps.

JoeBoy Feb 8th 2008 9:11am

Where did this picture come from?

cavor Feb 8th 2008 10:36am

The Picture was one from a series of photos I took in Dec 07 I wasn't really happy with the lighting but this was the best of the bunch!
;)

666joshy666 Mar 3rd 2008 11:32am

no you won't have to do any better to win the contest!!!!!;)

666joshy666 Mar 3rd 2008 11:32am

sorry for the late reply

cavor Mar 7th 2008 12:24pm

Thanks 666joshy666 its nice of you to say what you said but I didn't win so feel I will have to do something incredible!! to do so
I had read a thread about it doesn't matter what age you are so thought it would be ok to have a go!!but in my heart of hearts I feel it is still mainly aimed at the younger sector
I hadn't done any modelling for possible 18 to 2 years so felt it wasn't a bad job!!
;)

cavor Mar 7th 2008 12:27pm

Sorry that should have read 18 months to 2 years, could do with an edit on this section as well!!!;)
