I think if Gromit had a girlfriend it wouldnt be that good because gromit is always rolling his eyes at wallace when he falls in love, so if he had a girlfriend himself i think he would look 'less wise'.

Falling in love tends to make everyone look less than wise!

If Gromit fell in love it would reveal a new side of his character....
