Aardman's & RDF Exclusive Online Animated Short
Firm ties with RDF to co-produce exclusive short animated film for new online comedy portal.
Aardman Animations and RDF have teamed up to produce an exclusive short animated film for Comedydemon.com, the new online comedy portal from RDF.
The two companies will create a cutting edge comedy film aimed at the 16 to 35 year-old audience. Aardman will be opening it up as a short film competition to its employees and the winning idea will launch exclusively on Comedydemon.com.
In addition, Comedydemon.com has licensed rights for content from the Aardman archives to be streamed as short-form clips on the site, including Wallace and Gromit, Creature Comforts, Rex the Runt, A Town Called Panic, Morph, The Adventures of Jeffrey, Stuff vs Stuff and seven other licensed short films.
"We're delighted to be collaborating with Aardman, both in terms of the exclusive commission to launch on the site, and the quality archive content which we can stream as short clips," said Debbie Manners, group commercial director of RDF Media and MD of Comedydemon.com.
"Aardman is a world leader in the field of animation and their experience with comedy shorts will no doubt ensure that we get something really special."
Robin Gladman, digital rights manager at Aardman, added: "RDF pitched an excellent plan to us when they first presented the Comedy Demon project and we immediately wanted to get involved continuing the successful distribution of our content to digital platforms."
