Hi there again, i'm back from the production line of haggis and neep which so far is looking good, whith some updates for the nice ppl of wallace and gromit.com
:
note: SPOILERS.
All cgi ( well kinda seeming it's done on sketch up) is now finished.
The villian from now on will be a traffic warden ( no spoilers why this has to do with aliens)
Jesus will be a character. not to offend any christians.
All characters have been carefully made to look like the old scetches i did in primary school. Like nightmare before x-mas.
even the cast has had a laugh at the script.
i'll update this thread soon with images and sneak peaks, but for now,
ta ta.

hi
bye
NEW UPDATE!!!! DUN DUN DUN.
All character clothing will be made out of real old clothes. this gives it realisim and the last time when it was just clay, it was really messed up as the colours blead into each other.
The old sets from the first one will only be used once with the new characters, during the title sequence with a few surprises.
Background music and sounds have been found including:
princes of the universe by queen
The original King kong theme
The Metal gear solid game over
The baby elephant walk
eye of the tiger from rocky 3
war of the worlds narrations ect.
all characyer modell heads are now finished-ish (yah bute), the really do look like the original drawings.
The kilts on haggis and neep are actually made of REAL TARTAN!!! No joke, complete with sporrons made from deer hair, the same stuff on the real thing, thank god my dad goes fishing often.
And finally, storyboards are complete.
thats all for now ppl![]()
Sounds good, can't wait to see this.
Two of my favourite songs on there.
which songs are they?
The baby elephant walk and ( i'm not to sure if you call it song but...) war of the worlds ( i like all of that really)
also my dad is doing a shaun connery voice.
by the way, war the worlds sounds from the movie, not the musical if thats what you are thinking.
sounds cool spazicat.why not from the musical? the musical rules!
caues i don't have the cd and it's not what i have in mind curt.
ok spazicat!
how long do you think your going to be filming spazicat?
it's a christmas release
Heres a picture of the custom armatures
They look like bionicles or whatever you call them, are they? They don't look like metal. If they are ball and socket (Even if they are plastic)...
1) Are they open hole joints or countersunk?
2) Do they have hinges or universal joints too?
3) Why pipe cleaners instead of armature wire?
4) Can you tie them down?
5) How did you machine them, with a mill or lathe?
Are they even metal?
They are cut up plastic bionicle parts. used the dremel tool to cut up the pieces and fitted them together to make the armatures with resin glue . all the parts are from old bionicles that i had lying around , all the sockets are ball joints . i can tie them down with nuts in the feet. the arms are hinged to pivot and rotate as necessary. also i use clay and elastoplast tape to give the body some form and strength.
Heres a teaser 4 u all, enjoy.
How did you get the nuts in the feet, they look like solid plastic, no?
bored out the underside of the foot and stuck the nuts in with resin
for your viewing pleasure
Great! Spazicat, hinges don't pivot or rotate they move up and down like a normal hinge.
have you checked the trailer above.![]()
yep i have. great start im looking forward to seeing more![]()
Heres the actual logo i made for the traffic warden's jacket, plane and simple, retro, the works.
Heres the photo of the ufo, my camera really got it nice on the screen ![]()
Completed Jesus head
completed neep head
Recently, My animation in progress Haggis & Neep 2 has went a bit down hill latley. First off, i tried putting pva glue over the character's heads to give the a shiny feel and not bleed into a different colour of clay (such as eye lids). the result, bad. Meaning all faces had to be rebuilt.... lucky for me, they are much better.
Second, My dad saw on the net a clay-like thing called fimo, coloured clay that would harden in the oven, I thought this will be good for custom eyes and feet. So went to the crafts shop, got a load of stuff (aswell as blu tack for arm joints), went home and encounterd the first problem. My armatures are made of cut up bionicle parts ( they work pretty decent) that ARE MADE OF PLASTIC. So, i cant put them in the oven without them melting. I then decided to make masks for the feet, this was no easy prosses taking them off againg for baking. I put them in the oven and .... They got burnt So i had to go through the same annoying masking again. So when i finally get it not burnt, guess wot, They wont fit on the feet And they were a mess. How ever, i was a good samaratan to the eyes I made , perfect sape, hard as rocks, un-bleedable, Just perfection. Shame they werent white when the came out, oh well.![]()
Recently i had made clothes for the characters for my animation serial haggis and neep, but i've come across a problem. The original haggis model wore a nike shirt with a zip with a metal chain, but the overal shirt was clay. The new one was made from an old white vest, so, when i tried to put the chain on with super glue, it fell off meaning i had to use a permenent marker for the effect. But now i have another problem, the green clay on the heads go on the clothes, which can easily be washed, but the ink in the marker would completely destroy it in the wash, so in total, i've got to make a new shirt for haggis using white velcro and more consintraton.
Also today i just bought a load of paint for sets and scenery, aswell as some white milliput. What i'm planning to do with that is i am going to experiment with replacement hands. NOW THERES SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT. The hands will painted green and flesh colour with acrylic paint. if you have a better solloution for such paints comment bellow.
the Spazi-cat
Miliput is like fimo but dries at room tempreture in about 3-4 hours( so it gives you quite a lot of modeling time and it wont melt your armature. If you already new this then sorry for wasting your time but i thought i might tell you just incase.
Looking forward to seeing the finished production.![]()
