James Posted: Nov 19th 2007

NewPlast :D

Best ever

conty Posted: Nov 20th 2007

hi, gromits little bro, i use newplast, i think that i put most of the details on my morph creation, hope that helps;)

Gromits little bro Posted: Nov 22nd 2007

thnx i got really gonfused between which 2 ise ie sculpey or newplast........ :D thnx agen:)

conty Posted: Nov 22nd 2007

i like newplast as you get larger blocks for your money, and its easy to work with, and the fact that aardmans use it in their models, it must be good!!!! and great if you want to animate, but the downside is if you want to put your models on display they dont keep as well as you cant really keep them clean and if they topple over they get damaged very easily

it would be great if someone invented something that when you,ve made your model and then finished animating with him, there was a product that you could maybe paint or spray onto the model to set it hard, of coarse there could be something like that out there but ive just not heard of it:D

connor-james-gorman Posted: Nov 24th 2007

Ive Never Really Tried Newplast But Everyone Is Saying It Is Good Plasticine So I Might Get Some Around The Christmas Season

conty Posted: Nov 28th 2007

after some searching ive found there is such a product, its a powder that you can either mix into the newclay which will set your model hard, or mix the powder into a liquid and paint onto your model when you've finished animating which will give your model a hardened coat, i found this at www.chromacolour.co.uk;)

policeman95 Posted: Jan 22nd 2008

VERY STRANGE hehe

squigly Posted: Jan 23rd 2008

cinders is your mom? In which thread did that come up on?

cinders1 Posted: Jan 23rd 2008

hi squigly, modelmaker asked me for some more pics on a thread called cinders, i wasnt going to lie, to be honest i was just being a good parent keeping my eye on things as you hear all sorts of things that go on on the internet, but after a few months i too fell under the spell of this site,
i had no need to worry though, this site is full of really great members:) and i think that the rules are great seeing as there are lots of younger members, their safety being the word;)

squigly Posted: Jan 23rd 2008

that's pretty cool that you got into this website too!

I think it's funny when some of the younger ones find out some members they've been chatting with are adults!|-)

Do you do make models too?

cinders1 Posted: Jan 23rd 2008

conty sits for hours and hours and sometimes i sit and chat to him while hes modelling, i did have a go one night and the whole family fell about laughing, so that was the end of that!!!!!

but i cant belive i cant do it better than him, as i was always great at art and im a hairdresser and cut weird and wonderfull hairstyles, so why cant i see shapes when i can so easily on a head? im baffled, but i get alot of enjoyment watching him creating, im very proud of him, he really is a great kid and lucky for me hes not your typical stroppy teenager, contys very mature for his years and i realy loved the naked lady drawing he done:O

i do think its funny when the youngters think were not adults, i guess thats because we are the same as we were way back then, just more experienced but just as mad, :O

i hope none of you mind if i stay around as i really enjoy this site, and love to give encourgament to all the talented modelmakers and animators on here, and also have an insight into what is going on so that i can support conty in what he would love to do in the future;)

squigly Posted: Jan 24th 2008

Conty has such a natural talent. I'm sure he gets his creative eye from you. Has he ever taken any formal drawing classes? Was he always creative? I can tell by his comments that he is a very nice person, considerate, and passionate about claymation.

What was it that you were trying to model? And what did it actually end up looking like?

I've been a & fan since not long after The Wrong Trousers and A Close Shave were released. A few years back I used to go to the old Aardman website. But I had dial-up back then and got tired of waiting for the screens to refresh so I stopped going there. Only recently I was home with a cold with nothing to do so I decided to clean out my e-mails when I came across the monthly newsletter with a link to this website. I never joined in any forums before. But I saw the announcement of the Fleeced game and starting reading everybody comments in the Forum (saw Conty's picture w/NP on that thread too). I posted one reply, and, as they say....the rest is history. I'm hooked now. Just as you are! I don't think anyone will mind you sticking around. Your encouraging words are a nice addition to the website.

cinders1 Posted: Jan 24th 2008

hi squigly, thankyou for your kind words, no conty has never had any classes doing anything to do with art, hes just got a natural talent which showed itself at 3 years old when at playschool he made a 3d elephants head, which did shock us all as everyone else was making peas and sausages!!!

at primary school he was the one who gave up his play times to paint sets for plays etc and now at secondary school he is very much known for his art and of coarse his sports acheivements, they are very proud of him and he has won all kinds of awards for his successes

its very kind of you to say he gets his talent from me, but im afraid its not the case, his granddad was an architect, an uncle who is a design and technoligy teacher in a private school and his father loves woodcarving, so i think its from my husbands side the family

the model i tried to make was a cat, well supposed to be a cat!!!!, but ive not seen anything posted on here as bad as my creation, but hey it gave them a laugh!!!!!

when my boys were little i got all of the wallace and gromit films as they came out, so they have been bought up with them, conty has always loved wallace and gromit as have i, it has a real charm and we never get fed up with watching the films over and over again,
its lovely to meet other people with the same interests and have found so many members to be very kind, yourself included, and also the ones that make me laugh, josephines a real character, and cavor is always a brilliant help and has given conty lots of valuble advice;)

conty Posted: Jan 24th 2008

hehehehe it was a cat was it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :O i thought it was a mouse;)

cavor Posted: Jan 24th 2008

Hi conty maybe the cat looked like a mouse because that’s probably the size your mum made it!

Good to here you feeling better, I’ve had several bouts of flu over Christmas and new year that’s left me feeling a bit washed out!

Good tip for an animation room paint the walls black keeps down reflectivity from
your lighting, stops flicker in your final animation.
:D

conty Posted: Jan 24th 2008

really!!!! i thought white, but if you say black, then black it is, dont know how mum n dads going to take that though!!! its a small room!!! your not tricking me right!!!its not april fools for months:O just joking!!!! dads looked at your links and hes going to make me one, so we might be back with some questions when he starts, hopefully in the next two weekends

the flu you had over xmas and new year wasnt beer flu per chance, dad gets that;)

Modelmaker93 Posted: Jan 24th 2008
