I would like the cheepest version that does all the things on there Youtube tutorials: http://uk.youtube.com/user/StopMotionPro but I do not want much more things I wont use, I think I might get the one thats around £60, I might contact them sometime.

cinders1 Posted: Jul 14th 2008

theyve got it, conty took a copy into school a few months back, but weve not heard anything back, im not sure whats happening or if they have any plans for it, maybe you could ask someone in I T ?

everytime i see a teacher we get chatting and i keep forgetting to ask!!!!:O

Ursrut Posted: Jul 14th 2008

I wont make a comment....
I hope they do though. I'll ask my IT teacher on Friday.

Harry Posted: Jul 14th 2008

http://www.chromacolour.co.uk/store/animation_stopmo_software.asp If you scroll down to where you buy them and the price there is one called Stop Motion Pro Version 6 Individual Liscence, thats the part I do not get, what does it mean by Individual liscence? does that mean I cant show my animations here because its a 'Individual' thing?...

Ohh, I will keep that up there just for decoration. But this is the main part. I just noticed Jordan was right, Junior and Educational are only alloud for schools, hmm, £187. Big money that is isnt it. Hmm, what shall I do, get my piggy bank building up for a year, work in my dads pub (might do that, well help out) Hmmmm.. £187 biig money for me little fella, Birthdays soon, I might ask for it for Christmas, and test if I am good enough to have it with MonkeyJam, ermmm, not sure now, what shall I do, ask for it, work for it, contact them and see if I can get Educational.

Ursrut Posted: Jul 14th 2008

I remember something or other where you can go into you headmaster and you get them to sign something that says you are a student there and you get some discount... i'm not to sure about that though.
I would work for it if i were you because that way you feel you earned it that way, i do anyway.

cinders1 Posted: Jul 14th 2008

yes individual licence means its just for your use, but you can use it as much as you like

harry get your mum to ring up the same place as your link, get her to ask how much will it be for her son who is ?. they will give you a huge discount as you are still at school, they will explain to your mum how she will get a discount but tell your mum i said its really easy

ursrut i agree that its good to work hard for what you get but you would be very silly to pay the adults price when you are still at school and not earning a wage, that is why the discount has been put in place so that kids can afford it;)

Ursrut Posted: Jul 14th 2008

oh i realise that... i was just saying that it i feel better working for my stuff.
i couldn't believe my eyes when i saw that price :O .
I hope you do get it harry.

Harry Posted: Jul 14th 2008

So, does that mean I am only still alloud the full version, but I will get a huge discount on it making it so I can afford it, cool. What do I do, tell my mum to say im at school and then they will just say, ok you can have it cheeper?

cinders1 Posted: Jul 14th 2008

yep you got it!!!!! good luck;)

Harry Posted: Jul 14th 2008

Does my school have to do anything to say I am a student?
And when I leave school will it stop?

cinders1 Posted: Jul 14th 2008

your mum will photocopy your birth certificate and take it to your school, your school will sign it saying that you are a pupil at their school and then the school will fax it to chromacolour (chromacolour will give you the fax number)and then they will post you smp at the discounted price. smp is then yours for as long as you want to use it|-)

Harry Posted: Jul 14th 2008

COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!! Hmm Birth Certificate! I have a Certificate FOR BEING BORN!! hehe (so does everyone) WELL DONE EVERYONE! Well, I better get my mum into wanting me to have it, I will be a gooood boy from now on.

cinders1 Posted: Jul 14th 2008

ooohhh what a good idea!!!! hehe;)

jordan Posted: Jul 14th 2008

cant belive i havent used smp yet, on another note im out of flipping roof tiles again!!!! argh i only need 10 more!!!!!!

squigly Posted: Jul 15th 2008

harry, if you don't have enough plastercine for a whole model, you can accomplish your filming with a little directorial discretion...i.e., make a bottom part for when brown skates into the mud and zoom in your shot so you won't need a whole model. then you just need the top part of the head sticking out of the mud, some eyes and mouth parts.

good luck with your webcam purchase!

thanks anyway, but you deserve all the credit since you will be doing the modelmaking and animating!

(oh...it jumped to the next page again!)

Harry, individual license just means that the software is for one person, meaning that it's not for a business or school, someplace that has many users for the one software. For places like that, they have to purchase multiple licenses, one for each workstation that has the software. So don't worry about it, you just need to get the individual license version.

Harry Posted: Jul 15th 2008

I have got the trial now, its ok, but I might get it in a couple of years, if I need it, I think I am doing ok with the program I have got, Squigly, it will be Purple on the skateboard who gets a little splat and then Brown jumping and sinking, hehe I think it Will be fun to animate, would someone help me and tell me what I need to do for the mouths, theres a smile, but I dont know what to do for a laugh...

cinders1 Posted: Jul 15th 2008

im sure conty would of helped you harry, but i will help you where i can seeing as hes not around but i can tell you when conty made his he just watched loads of purple and brown clips and then just made what he thought, im not sure if watching his movie again will help you out or not, can you play it clip by clip to slow it down? i also know that he made 9 mouths, hope that helps;)

Harry Posted: Jul 15th 2008

Ok, do you know if conty has mouths for inbetween things, like when Brown laughs is there a mouth shape between Brown's mouth from going small to big.

cinders1 Posted: Jul 15th 2008

no idea but i would guess so, see if you can play it bit by bit you might be able to see yourself if he has or not, i was only in his studio when the maltesers needed eating!!!;)

Modelmaker93 Posted: Jul 16th 2008

lmlm6819 Posted: Jul 16th 2008

cinders1 Posted: Jul 17th 2008

Ursrut Posted: Jul 17th 2008

They are amazing!!! :O

lmlm6819 Posted: Jul 17th 2008

all my models are made from plasticine, painted with acrylic paint, over either metal or plastic armatures. except the one with the glasses, the body is made from plasticine but the head is a car body filler cast from a silicon mould.
thanx for all ur comments, they are very very much appreciated!!
i have another site aswell as deviant that u all might want to check out, i also sell t-shirts on here, if u fancy buying one and aiding me in not being skint head on over and check it out lol!!

jordan Posted: Jul 17th 2008

woudnt painting plasticine just flake and crack?

lmlm6819 Posted: Jul 17th 2008

its not good for animating them, cos it jst comes off round the joints, unless u paint them with pva, but that gives the model a horrible shiny look. but if ur jst makin maquettes that wont be moving, the paint never comes off. u have to use acrylic cos its plastic based and this wont flake or crack at all, however long u keep the model. it also doesnt leave any paint brush strokes. ive used this paint for all my models and the paint hasnt budged yet!:)

MARLOW NATHAN Posted: Jul 17th 2008

cool:D

lmlm6819 Posted: Jul 17th 2008

wasnt very happy with the original version of this, so i went bk to it and improved it! i am happy with it nw!!will definatly paint it nw!
wat do u all think??

lmlm6819 Posted: Jul 17th 2008

ive seen alot of discussion on here about armatures, so here is one i made, any questions, feel free to ask.

squigly Posted: Jul 18th 2008

wow ImIm6819....welcome to the site. your models are amazing. i was admiring the two-tone hair on the first two models and was wondering how you were able to make it out of plasticine and look so smooth. then i read that it's acrylic paint. i think conty's got some real competition now! is your pc mac also made of plasticine? it almost looks like clay, except not gritty. do you always use a light colored plasticine because you paint over it?

lmlm6819 Posted: Jul 18th 2008

thank u very much! pc mac is made from plasticine, erm yeh i generally do pik a light coloured plasticine to paint ova, but any colour really does.i had to use two colours on pc mac cos i ran out of the lighter stuff lol!
cheers for the comments!

Nofby Posted: Jul 18th 2008

Good armature, but I wouldn't recommend using beads like that. Can you tighten the joints with an allen key so they don't come loose during animating? How does it move? I think the beads will start cracking under the metal after moving the joints alot... what material are they made from? These are the type of joints you want......

lmlm6819 Posted: Jul 18th 2008

cheers for the comments!
this was my first proper machined armature and it was done on a students budget:-(, uni didnt get a good budget for materials this year so i had to use wat was around me, hence the plastic balls. however the plastic balls did hold out and proved to have quite good grip with the joints.
im planning on doing proper models nxt year for my final major project so i will probably fork out for materials to build an armature like the example u showed.
thanks!

Modelmaker93 Posted: Jul 18th 2008

Wow great Makintosh and a great armature looks a simple one. Probably insnt lol.

I am thinking of making one from makano type od metal but this metal is very strong

lmlm6819 Posted: Jul 18th 2008

here is pc mackintosh all painted up!!>:-)

lmlm6819 Posted: Jul 18th 2008

jills Posted: Jul 18th 2008

lmlm6819, those are really great models. Does the acrylic paint dry when you put it on plasticine? Are you on an animation course then?

lmlm6819 Posted: Jul 18th 2008

yeh the paint drys, really fast.
av jst finished my second year a uni doing animation and design.
cheers for the comment, glad u like,
thanx

Ursrut Posted: Jul 19th 2008
