could anyone tell me how to improve my shading as i am very bad at shading and cant really see shadows if you like when i am drawing

ps. would you reccomend drawing shapes as general drawing practise

nice drawing potsy, i used to do drawings like this a few years ago, i was halo mad

tiptopgolfy when your shading a good tip is to use a tissue to blend and dont be afraid to go over it again again adding more layers, dont be afraid of the darks, dark shading makes a drawing pop out from the page, a mistake many of us make when we first start drawing. you wont spoil it although it does take guts to do it if you need anymore help i am happy to help where i can

anyway ive finished Junior, here he is

thanks for pointing that out i am not very good at proportion so if anybody could tell me a good method to keep bart in proportion it would help greatly
