The whole series cost money (you do get 4 whole games!), but the demo is completely free! You can get the demo here: http://www.telltalegames.com/wallaceandgromit/landing

We'd really like to know what you like and don't like about the demo!

Thanks,
Kevin

katie Aardman Staff Posted: Mar 31st 2009

Hi guys,

Thanks to Kevin for helping out on this forum, I've also heard back from Telltale's developers on some of your other questions:

Will it be Mac compatible?
Our games are not Mac-compatible, but if you have an Intel Mac, Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures runs well on XP under Boot Camp. We will also be releasing each episode on Xbox Live Arcade.

How much will it cost?
On PC, you can get all four episodes in a bundle for $34.95 (approximately 24GBP). The price on Xbox Live Arcade hasn't been decided yet.

How long will it take to complete?
This really depends on your playing style. When we had playtesters come in to give us feedback on the first episode, it took some of them five or six hours to get through the whole thing (and some didn't even finish it in that timeframe!) Other people finish the game in about three hours. If you take your time, look at everything there is to see, and talk to all of the other characters, the game takes longer than if you rush through it to get to the end. (And we think it's much more fun this way!)

What were the challenges of keeping that plasticine look & feel?
Keeping the characters and environments true to Aardman's originals was one of the biggest challenges we faced while making Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures. We use the same game engine for all of our games and try to make the art look as much as the source material as possible by building in special technology. For Wallace & Gromit, we created a new rendering tool that gives the models a clay-like look, with little imperfections and pockmarks as if they had been modeled from Plasticine. Aardman suggested adding thumb prints to the models, which we ended up doing, and it looks really neat!

If you watch closely you'll see them in the game. As we were working on this, we would show Aardman our progress and get their input on what we were getting right and what needed more work. We've also tried very hard to make Wallace's mouth shapes and Gromit's expressions authentic.

i wish i creat this game so i can puted in any videogame system and let the game be for FREE

Nathan M Posted: Apr 6th 2009

telltale kevin: why havent telltale games brought the games out on disk but just downloads and then a free disk at the end once weve bought all the games?

DancingShauny99 Posted: Apr 6th 2009

telltale Kevin - will the games be on disc?

Rebel Posted: Apr 7th 2009

What will the cost be in UK?

And will it be on PlayStation?

Rebel Posted: Apr 7th 2009

Yeah I want it on disk so I can also put it in my collection!

Abbi xx Posted: Apr 7th 2009

Helloo |-)

emily_ttg Posted: Apr 7th 2009

If you buy the downloadable PC games from Telltale, you can get a free DVD version once all four episodes have been released (you just pay for shipping). We've done this same deal for our Sam & Max and Strong Bad games and it means you get the best of both worlds: monthly releases PLUS a disc at the end to add to your collection.

Rebel: Right now the games are only coming to PC and Xbox Live Arcade. On PC the series costs about 24 pounds for all four episodes ($35). The Xbox price hasn't been announced yet.

Nathan M Posted: Apr 8th 2009

why isnt it coming to ps3?

emily_ttg Posted: Apr 8th 2009

Right now the only platforms we develop for are PC, Wii, and Xbox 360. We'd like to expand to Playstation one of these days but right now it's not a supported platform for Telltale's development tools.

Nathan M Posted: Apr 8th 2009

ok thanks

Mark the shark Posted: Apr 12th 2009

Crackin Cheese - the game will be on Xbox through Xbox Live Arcade. That will be the only way to get the Xbox version.

We don't have a release date for the Xbox version yet, but we should know pretty soon!

Purple&Brown Posted: Apr 13th 2009

chees3gromit Posted: Apr 13th 2009

just tried the demo and i can say i REALLY want to win this month's contest so i can get them all! :D

and i have a question that Katie might have the answer to:
Since i am entering the Morph contest i am already in the making of a film for that contest. but i was wondering if i am allowed to upload it to this site as well as the contest when i am done? i didnt know if you can use something for multiple contests.

anyway, GREAT game ttg and i think i will buy them all

katie Aardman Staff Posted: Apr 16th 2009

Sure, you can upload your creations to our site as well. Although please note for this month's competition the winner will be an image as it will appear in-game within the final episode of Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures.

Gromits little bro Posted: Apr 16th 2009

Cant the image be a screenshot from a video though??

chees3gromit Posted: Apr 16th 2009

Sammy the lamb Posted: Apr 20th 2009

Try entering a picture of one of the models... And then enter the video as well... Then they can see both of your work.

Screenshots and the storyline from the second episode, The Last Resort, have been revealed. Katie has posted the information here: http://www.wallaceandgromit.com/forum/read/30224/1

It's a fun episode, I hope you guys are looking forward to it! It will be released for PC in May and if you already bought Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures, you'll be able to download it for free the day it's released.

Xbox Live Arcade release dates are still being decided, but we expect to know when the series is coming to XBLA in the very near future!

kameatrix Posted: Apr 24th 2009

Hey, Katie, the demo on the AMOLAD dvd wont work- it just still comes up with 'please insert the dvd into a PC' when its in a PC!!!

emily_ttg Posted: Apr 27th 2009

Have you tried browsing the DVD using Windows Explorer?

If that doesn't work, you can download the demo directly from Telltale here: http://www.telltalegames.com/wallaceandgromit
