Well with the release of Green Roots 2 I can crack on with the 3rd epeisode. This thread is the same as the GR2 production thread, I will update you with pictures and news as I progress!

The title of the film has not been decided although the script is complete and the storyboards are almost complete!

My friend has helped me write the GR3 script (the voice of Brocolli from GR2)
There is much more dialogue than both GR1 and 2 in GR3.

Broccoli will have a very large part in GR3 and the jamiacan corn who everybody has forgotten about in GR1 makes a come back!:D

Also one more vegetable has been added to the gang, but at present this is classified!:D

Also the rest of the vegetables are having a sort of re-style!
Tomato is no longer on a stem, he know has paw/legs similair to those of potato!

But the biggest change from GR1 and 2 is that GR3 is on a much larger outdoor allotment set which is almost complete after months of construction! Yes, I have been keeping that a secret until know!!;)
It looks great and is much more colourful and brighter then the greenhouse set.
ALSO, breaking news!, the vegetables in GR3 have shadows!!!:)

Purple&Brown Posted: Aug 3rd 2009

Awesome, I've been waiting for this, so are you putting all the lights to one side to make the shadows? ( like the sun )

can we have a clue abouth the story or is it all classified?

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Aug 3rd 2009

yeah!
Well at the moment its classified but I'll post some pics of the new set soon!;)

Purple&Brown Posted: Aug 3rd 2009

Awesome, Can't wait!

Purple&Brown Posted: Aug 3rd 2009

are you putting the new set in the same place where you animate?

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Aug 3rd 2009
:-(

sadly yeah, so the greenhouse set has retired and is collecting dust on top of my cupboard!:'(

Purple&Brown Posted: Aug 3rd 2009

aww thats sad, I bet you love that set?

For my film, I am going to shoot in 16:9 format for that movie feel, do you think that would work?

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Aug 3rd 2009

yeah, pinnacle does that!
Should of done that for GR2!
Perhaps GR3:)

Purple&Brown Posted: Aug 3rd 2009

it does that on stop motion pro too.

What pinnacle do you use?

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Aug 3rd 2009

oh yeah neve noticed that! I use 10!;)

Purple&Brown Posted: Aug 3rd 2009

and how do you get the 16:9 format on?

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Aug 3rd 2009

Heres a pic of the retired old greenhouse set!

Purple&Brown Posted: Aug 3rd 2009

how do you get the 16:9 format on pinnacle VA?

crackingcheese Posted: Aug 3rd 2009

Wow I cant wait to see the jamaican corn again

Sorry to hear about the old set

GR3 looks great:D

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Aug 4th 2009

Here is the GR3 set under construction!

Purple&Brown Posted: Aug 4th 2009

That looks amazing!!

I do prefer that to the greenhouse set, how did you do the stone walls and the grass?

Purple&Brown Posted: Aug 4th 2009

VA, do any of your characters have an armature?

And are you considering making one for them?

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Aug 4th 2009

Not in GR1 or 2 but GR3 yes and funnily enough I was just about to start on potatoes armature!!:D

The wall was just a length of wood and then I just painted it like stones. Took ages!

Purple&Brown Posted: Aug 4th 2009

It looks very life like!|-)

Can you post some pics of the armature when it is done, thanks?;)

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Aug 4th 2009

Sure, it is a potato so it won't look like a human armature but here is a design of it:

Purple&Brown Posted: Aug 4th 2009

cool, I'll scan my armature drawing in a bit!

Cameronl Posted: Aug 4th 2009

How did you do the grass?

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Aug 4th 2009

eemm, not sure what its called but its like fake grass you can buy for model traintracks and geneal model landscapes!
It comes in a roll, like wallpaper!

But for my set I had to cover the whole grass layer with a layer of PVA so it goes hard so the plasticine sticks better!:)

Cameronl Posted: Aug 4th 2009

Would you be able to give me a link?

Purple&Brown Posted: Aug 4th 2009

have you seen my armature plan yet VA?

crackingcheese Posted: Aug 4th 2009

Wow did you paint the background?

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Aug 4th 2009

I did it with chalk!:D

crackingcheese Posted: Aug 4th 2009

BTW brill set

Purple&Brown Posted: Aug 4th 2009

When do you think it will be out?

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Aug 4th 2009

If all goes well maybe Christmas. But thats a very rough estimate!:-(

I'm stating my AS - Level next year so I'm going to be busy with school work..........again!!:'(:-(

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Aug 4th 2009

Update:
Well it's not very interesting to look at, but here is Potatoes armature. Should do the job!;)

Purple&Brown Posted: Aug 4th 2009

cool, when did you start doing it?

Purple&Brown Posted: Aug 4th 2009

Is that cloth tape you have put on it?

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Aug 4th 2009

no, maksing tape.:)

iantimothy Posted: Aug 4th 2009

isnt masking tape kinda slippery?

Purple&Brown Posted: Aug 4th 2009

yeh it is, I have just tested it

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Aug 4th 2009

No its more like a paper texture. Anyhow the plasticine has stuck on to it and it seems to be fine!:)

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Aug 4th 2009

P&B is it???? - Mine wasn't

Purple&Brown Posted: Aug 4th 2009

Good to hear! Yeh, on mine it is, maybe it's because they are different types of plasticine?

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Aug 4th 2009

Maybe it isn'nt masking tape, but I just call it masking tape!!\:D

Purple&Brown Posted: Aug 4th 2009

On how to build a bunny on the COTWR extras, it says cloth tape is great as the plasticine sticks like glue to it?

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Aug 4th 2009

yeah, i remeber, but I have never seen cloth tape in any shops before!

Purple&Brown Posted: Aug 4th 2009

how did you get all the different colours on the grass in your set?

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Aug 4th 2009

Paint! The soil is gravel painted black/brown and hardned with glue.

Purple&Brown Posted: Aug 4th 2009

Awesome! I love the backdrop you have drawn on!

Purple&Brown Posted: Aug 4th 2009

How do you put the 16:9 format on pinnacle studio?

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Aug 5th 2009

This afternoon the very first few voices of GR3 are being recorded!

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Aug 9th 2009
