It's well known that each new Wallace & Gromit adventure introduces new and exciting characters into the world of West Wallaby Street - and "A Matter of Loaf and Death" was no exception! This film saw the introduction of Fluffles - a beautiful, but slightly nervous, poodle who strikes a romantic chord with Gromit.

What did you think of Fluffles as a love interest for Gromit? Would you rate her as one of your favourite supporting characters? Let us know your thoughts below!

She was a nice cute character and it was good that gromit finally got a love interest after wallace having 2,but i wouldn't want to see her i the next film. every film is different with new stories and new character,and i think having fluffles return would spoil that and it would become not an inventor and his intelligent dog,it's would be an inventer,his intelligent dog,and the dogs love interest,which i don't thin would work for another film.

I Think having a love intrest for Gromit was a cracking Idea.
However, I hope Gromit doesn't go on a train of girlfriends like Wallace.

I'm kind of getting tired of them going though the same pattern.

New Jobs is fine. they are always new ideas, and that's always the theme of the films,ruling out AGDO and Kinda TWT

I think after Wallace having Wendoline, Lady Tottington and Piella as 'girlfriends', I think that Fluffles was a good character to introduce as Gromit's love interest.

Personally, I really liked Fluffles and it's about time that Gromit had someone on his wavelength!

I remember when Nick did an interview at the AMOLAD screening in Bristol he said Fluffles was one of the toughest characters to animate so far - which is understandable because of her small size! Has anyone tried to make a model of her yet? I think I noticed one or two in the creations competition...

Although she isn't one of my favourite supporting characters, but she was a good character. I prefer Piella!
I don't think she should be used again in a film! I think it'll be like Shaun The Sheep, him only being in one film!

I like fluffles. As they say finally its Puppy love!

Fluffles wasn't as strong a character as say Shaun the sheep in my opinion

I think it was about time that gromit had a love interest although i don't think she should return. It will always be Wallace and Gromit but never Wallace,gromit and (fluffles,wendoline,ect)

It would be difficult to ignore Fluffles now though! Shaun could be explained away by going to the farm but now Fluffles lives with them it would be much more difficult!

Maybe they're not planning more films now, because anywhere else it wouldn't matter if it was just W&G - it could be set before AMoLaD as such.

And Cavor - hopefully by the end of Summer. No set date as yet, but as soon as I can give one I will!

Maybe Aardmans could do a prequel to W & G

I think Fluffles should stay on. I agree with the idea that the pattern of the stories - Wallace starts a new job and falls in love - could and maybe should be changed. W&G can be stable in their work and their love lives and still be great fun and very interesting. New avenues for plot lines could be gleened from the current characters. We could learn about Fluffles mysterious past or odd relatives. Wallace could have an evil twin brother or Gromit could find his "birth mother". That sort of thing.

Fluffles might have moved out of 62 West Wallaby Street by now... she missed dunking her dog biscuits in her tea and had to make do with cheese and crackers.

There is only so much cheese and so many crackers a girl can take!

Fluffles came across as extremely loveable and sweet ... but sadly traumatised and in need of a good counsellor or shrink after her horrid treatment by Piella Bakewell. goes through enough emotional wringing without on his plate, too. Maybe he would like a girlfriend - a meeting of clever minds to lighten the load and not add to the weight.

It's high time gave his heart a break (not heartbreak, you understand), too, and concentrate on another new business/invention/adventure. If the ANP is stuck for an idea, this forum could be his one-stop-shop!

Cavor's idea is a cracker. I think we've shared our thoughts on how our chums met on this, our beloved forum, ages ago. It'll be good to talk about it again. What do you think, Katie?

I Think you should keep Fluffles. I do think it's fine Wallace has a new girl friend each time because he the kind of guy falls in love with every girl he meets but is too scatted brained to keep a girl, but Gromit is the exact opposite he's responsible and wouldn't fall in love with every lady dog he meets.

Gromit as a wee pup - and Wallace with hair - like the picture of them on their wall. How DID they get together in the first place? (That leaves the Fluffles issue off the table for awhile....which is probably a cracking good idea too...for now. )

Wallace could lose his hair in an accident gone wrong or his brown/gingery hair in his younger days could have been a bad experiment gone pear shaped

fluffles is not one of my favourite charecters and i think if there was a new wallace and gromit it would be better with out fluffles.

The time machine is a good idea, but there is a W&G book with a story with a time machine in it already although i think it would be great adapted to a film!

But the show isnt' about fluffles. just as it wasn't about hutch or shaun. just leave her for this film. having her in the next film would spoil everything wallace and gromit means for me.

Well You Know What Could happen next time wallace and gromit , why not haved Gromit for a change in thee "luvv" palour you could have Fluffles in it and you`ree right its not that normal , but she could die , theres always a chancee hmmm might be good one of the best loved charters to go , or you could make wallace think she was dead but gromit know that she couldn`t be the fluffles she was any more ....Just an idea Lol Sorry I dun mean she should die , but its a change .

if they had fluffles in the next wallace and gromit the film wouldnt go anywhere because gromit will be in love all the time unless someone dognaps fluffles and its up to wallace and gromit to sort it out.

I ADORE Fluffles! Absolutely one-hundred-percent love her. I think she's great, and she's a very different character from any others they've ever done - much less thickset. I really like that she matches Gromit's intelligence. I don't think that Gromit would have to be all lovey-dovey in a potential next film - I just think that he and f. could bounce really well off each other for the whole thing. They don't have to be defined in terms of each other either, in my opinion. For instance, in Fluffles' finest momen, with the forklift, Gromit is nowhere to be seen! I think they could just be a great team. And Fluffles could act as n interest point for teenagers... maybe? I started an obsessive thread about Fluffles if you're interested in hearing more of this. It's called "Upon Fluffles's veritable Awesomeness."

Fluffles was kinda different than anyother supporting characters in wallace and gromit, and i cant really explain why.

I mean, this is a character that has to be in a few more films. Look at shaun, he now lives on a farm, or hutch, he lives at tottington hall. Fluffles however, has nowhere to go since piella supposibly gets eaten by a crocodile.

I would like to see fluffles in more films because, lets face it, who dosnt.

lol just kidding she is definitely my favourite supporting character hence my user name.Like Gromit she is much more than just a dog she has very human qualities such as her shyness,her modesty and her kindness which make her a character that you really care about.Plus she is some one who is on gromits level and someone for him to really relate to in a way hes not always able to with Wallace.

oh and can I just say im quite curious as to why this thread has been created-is it because there are possible plans for fluffles to be brought back to w and g or for her to have her own spin off show and aardman want to see what some of their fans think?
Because if so I think it would brilliant for her to have a spin off show with lady tottington as those two just seem like they would go together really well because they are both just really charming and lovely.Also I think that she should occasionally appear in Wallace and gromit for poor hard done by gromits sake.

Fluffles is a great character,don't get me wrong,so was Shaun,Wendolene,Feathers,Lady Tottington and Hutch. i think with wallace and gromit should start afresh in each new adventure. it's better to have wallace and gromit sticking as wallace and gromit. every film is different,and all the supporting characters are too. she could have a few cameos,but i think each film should be diferent,not bringing characters in and making a massive story arc. this is a series of episodic films,it's not one big story.
