Don't forget to watch the Culture Show this evening, which was filmed at Aardman HQ earlier this week and celebrates 20 years of Wallace & Gromit!

For more information and piccies from the episode, visit:

Here's a snapshot from the grand finale of the episode - hope you like it!

@concon If you have sky, go to 977 and keep looking through channels till you find BBC 2 ENGLAND or WALES.

concon Posted: Nov 19th 2009

I managed to watch some of it online but it was to long so I swiched it off. :-(

SockEyeSalmon Posted: Nov 19th 2009

What a beautiful, tasteful, well-thought-out, well-produced tribute to our wonderful chums, including the Almighty Nick Park (the ANP)!

jills Posted: Nov 20th 2009

Hello dear pals! Is there a video link for this available?

Clay Fighter Posted: Nov 20th 2009

WOW!
although i couldnt watch it see the way nick park is standing?
I always stand like that!!
like the way his hands are!

Fish Posted: Nov 20th 2009

I am not allowed to see the video, since I do not live in the UK. :'(

Ursrut Posted: Nov 20th 2009

Fish, i'll let you know if i can find anything for you.

Fish Posted: Nov 20th 2009

Thanks, Ursrut!

Ursrut Posted: Nov 20th 2009

Fish- i have two solutions to this. I'd e-mail the bbc and explain that you in America and could you possibly have a transcript of the show or maybe just the interview with Nick Park.
Otherwise my other plan is waiting. But i don't think it will work so i wont get your hopes up on it. I myself will be e-mailing for a transcript anyway.

thetopbun Posted: Nov 20th 2009

Thanks, Ursrut! :)

crackingtoast Posted: Nov 21st 2009

it was great, but i expected more on wallace and gromit and their 20th anniversairy. the whole episode should have been dedicated to wallace and gromit, not just a nick park interview and a wenslydale birthday cake at the end.

crackin cheese Posted: Nov 21st 2009

Wow it was brill I never new aardman did half of those ads wow and I agree with ct

kldceltic Posted: Nov 21st 2009

i loved it

SockEyeSalmon Posted: Nov 21st 2009

crackingtoast, as the proverb goes: better half a loaf than no loaf at all...

Besides, I personally loved the features about Russian ads from the Communist era and Steve Martin's performance of bluegrass music. Here are the reasons I think these features were combined strokes of genius of both the BBC producers and programme editors...

The ANP has been a frequent attendee of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and this would have chuffed him to mintballs for the comic genius, Steve Martin, to star in the same billing and show him picking a mean banjo with class musicians! If you look inside your copies of "The Art of Curse of the Wererabbit" and "20 Years of and ", you will find that , and were banjo players in the sketch books and deleted storyboarded scenes.

The old Russian ads not only provided, for me, as much of a nostalgia quality as the ANP showing his beloved Beano annuals, but I began to chuckle to myself about the set designer artists at Aardman who let their creative juices flow with those witty poster ads. Imagine & in Soviet Russia
and those ads in the cyrilic alphabet and the iconic designs combining the world of 62 West Wallaby Street and Russia.

I watched The Culture Show again on iPlayer. Fish, old pal, I hope this episode will be available on BBC World for all to enjoy...or, failing that, a kind hearted person would put it up on YouTube. 0:)

kldceltic Posted: Nov 21st 2009

SockEyeSalmon Posted: Nov 21st 2009

Ursrut, my other old pal - how's squigly? Is it me or has our old fruit not been on these beloved boards for a while?

Fish Posted: Nov 21st 2009

Thanks, kidceltic!:) Squigly is alive and well I believe - just not posting here very often.

Gromits little bro Posted: Nov 22nd 2009

why I do believe that downloaded videos from BBC iPlayer have DRMs on them.

Ursrut Posted: Nov 22nd 2009

They do and their a pain but it stops people from copying and distributing things that don't belong to them for money
