iantimothy Posted: Jul 7th 2011

Mmasonghi... Is that a typo, where is says 9 minutes shot in 8 days?.... because that sounds completely impossible with stopmotion?

mmasonghi studios Posted: Jul 9th 2011

no its 3 years of work with 8 days worth of animation also 2D animation

Gromits little bro Posted: Jul 11th 2011

So the overall time is 8 days, as in 8x24hours?

iantimothy Posted: Jul 11th 2011

Hmm not sure if I understand, I mean i get like 30 seconds in 9 days.

mmasonghi studios Posted: Jul 11th 2011

@Ian I'm home schooled so i have a lot of time on my hands
I could be wrong
@GLB It's more like 8x7hours

my guesstimate for the hole short film is about 15 minutes

mmasonghi studios Posted: Jul 11th 2011

doing some 2D Animation
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zrXVAdduo4
it's part of a 25 part series

iantimothy Posted: Jul 27th 2011

Alright this is going to sound kind of blunt.

What frame rate are you working on????? That would have to be like 2 frames a second!!!

There is no possible way that your animation could be smooth, if you have 9 minutes worth of animation, you would have to be getting over a minute a day. In the world of animation that is physically impossible, unless it is horribly jumpy, and you are working on like... one frame per second.
If you don't mind me asking, about what age are you.
I want to just give you some advice...... S....l...o...w..........d....o....w.....n
don't rush.... and don't worry about how much you get done.... Aardman gets 3 seconds A DAY!!!!! I get about 7 seconds a day in the summer.
Oh, and some more advice.... I would start short.... very... very... short.... I am going to be honest... no one wants to watch a 15 minute amateur film.

Just some advice.

mmasonghi studios Posted: Jul 27th 2011

Ian i am working on 24 fps and i am getting a minute a day
check this out to see my animation
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2msqmu9Ms8

mmasonghi studios Posted: Jul 27th 2011

and i use a lot rotoscope ;)

iantimothy Posted: Jul 27th 2011

you are getting 1,440 frames a day?............... That sounds impossible. How could the animation possibly be smooth??? If you are getting that much done, there is no way you are taking enough time.

mmasonghi studios Posted: Jul 28th 2011

i'm prob not taking enough time
but trust me know what i am doing

P.S.
i could be wrong (its just an guesstimate nothing to get worked up over)

iantimothy Posted: Jul 28th 2011

I just am not sure how you could even possibly be getting 1,440 frames in, say, 8 hours. That is 180 frames an hour, and you probably take some breaks. so it's probably more like 240 frames an hour, thats 4 frames.... every minute. it just doesn't seem possible.

mmasonghi studios Posted: Jul 28th 2011

As I said before it's just an guesstimate and i added some 30 second music montages in there where I added the same shot over and over to fill time :-|
That's how I came to be about 9 minutes ;)

mmasonghi studios Posted: Aug 1st 2011

mmasonghi studios Posted: Aug 9th 2011

about a minute done last week :)

mmasonghi studios Posted: Aug 9th 2011

Clay Fighter Posted: Aug 19th 2011

I agree with Ian, the animation I have done isn't as smooth as it could be and I get no where near that much done a day!

mmasonghi studios Posted: Aug 21st 2011

working on animation yesterday two seconds done in 3 hours :D

iantimothy Posted: Aug 22nd 2011

THAT'S MORE LIKE IT! :D:D:D
