A Matter of Loaf and Death, Wallace & Gromit’s fourth short film, has made the final selection of nominees for Best Animated Short Film at the 82nd Academy Awards, held on 8th March 2010.

This is the fifth Oscar nomination for the pair, of which they have won three to date, with A Grand Day Out, their first outing in 1989, only just missing out to Creature Comforts, Nick Park’s second short film entry that year! Both The Wrong Trousers (1993) and A Close Shave (1995) secured the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film, and Wallace & Gromit’s first feature film, The Curse of the WereRabbit, took home the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2006.

A Matter of Loaf and Death made its TV debut on Christmas Day 2008 on BBC1 to a record-breaking audience of more than 16.1 million.

Keep your fingers crossed with us for more celebrations on the 8th March!

Well, Wallace and Gromit just lost the Oscar to the film Logorama. It's quite disappointing as all of the other W&G films won the Oscar when it was nominated. Maybe if Logorama wasn't there, then maybe AMOFAD could have won the Oscar. You never know. ;)
