Hi everyone,

As you all know I am nearing the completion of Green Roots 3 but I have some great news about GR2. Green Roots 2, Flying Crying vegetables has been put into the final screening of the Leeds Film Festival 2010. I will be going to the Leeds Hyde Park Cinema on the 3rd of April to see if my film wins! Myself and a full cinema audience will watch Green Roots on the big cinema screen!! Along with other young aspiring film makers work. Judges will then comment on our work and finally will pick a winner. The winner will receive about £250 cash for there next film project + rather a lot of publicity!!

Even if I don't win I will be able to promote Green Roots and myself to professional movie makers at the festival.

I will be sending in promotional images of Green Roots soon to the Leeds Council Chairman who will create brochures and posters of my work and others.
If anyone lives near Leeds keep an eye out for posters of Green Roots around Hyde Park!! ;)

Thanks!
I'll keep you updated!!

Thanks guys!
I have learnt that there are 12 finalists in my age band. (15-19) Quite a lot!
I will probably be the youngest one in my age band competing against possible first year university students so if I do well I would be over the moon and extremely happy!:D

Ursrut Posted: Feb 24th 2010

Well done Vincent!!!
I know that lots of people have made it big from things like that not to sure if i remember this exactely correctly but Edgar Wright ( director of Hot Fuzz) got his fame from a small screening of his work so get out there Vincent and Well done!!!

concon Posted: Feb 24th 2010

Any links to the animations that are also nominated? :)

VincentAnimations01 Posted: Feb 24th 2010

Thanks, Ursrut!:)
@Concon
I don't know. I have not seen any?! I don't think there all animations, some if not most will be live action films. I think that I will be one of the only ones showing a Stop Motion animation.

concon Posted: Feb 24th 2010

Ahh cool,
Well that means you put most work into it. ;)

plasjas Posted: Feb 24th 2010

Concon, live action films are just as hard to do as stopmotions. Well done vincent. i hope you do very well and get the credit you deserve for your green roots films they're great
