Great news! well, two greats news's actually, first I got 10 seconds (of constant movement) done yesterd'y, and today one of the voice talents has been confirmed! He said he would love to do it! :D

thetopbun Posted: Jun 17th 2010

Yay!!!!!

iantimothy Posted: Jun 18th 2010

I have gotten so much done this week, about 30 seconds since sund'y right now I am shooting some mighty fine banjer pickin', I only have one more shot in this scene. I should be able to finish today, then tomorrow I start on scene two! Scene one is the longest continual scene. There are six scenes, Three of them are really short. The animation, as it seems to do in every episode is improving, I think they have a lot of character in this one.

ajmole Posted: Jun 18th 2010

How long is the episode supposed to be?

iantimothy Posted: Jun 18th 2010

probably about five minutes

ajmole Posted: Jun 19th 2010

You have a long way to go, my friend. ;)

iantimothy Posted: Jun 19th 2010

i have one minute and 49 seconds, so almost two minutes. The banjo pickin' I shot yesterd'y turned out really good! I actually rotoscoped it, I shot my dad playing it and pretty much copied it frame for frame so i get the proper finger motions, It is only the second thing I have rotoscoped, I did the same thing for the fight scene in episode three, now that is a funny video, I got my dad, and the guy that did the voice of riley, to actually act out that scene.

iantimothy Posted: Jun 19th 2010

Alrighty, this scene is finished. I had one more shot I had to do, Tomorrow I start scene 2

mmasonghi studios Posted: Jun 19th 2010

You gota post that video somewhere HA!

concon Posted: Jun 20th 2010

iantimothy Posted: Jun 20th 2010

I think I have decided that I ort not shoot anything today, but work on props, audio, and a small new character :O

just so you don't get your hopes up, it is not a major character, no where near riley... about the level of the caterpillar in the first one. Yes it is an animal, I will not tell you what kind though, but it should be pretty funny. And to confuse you.... Those two new voice talents.... well, neither of them are for this character. haha, try to figure that out. only one new character... two new voices, neither voice that character???? Muahahaha

mmasonghi studios Posted: Jun 20th 2010

ummm that is cunfusing ugh :O

Clay Fighter Posted: Jun 21st 2010

so, its like the aquirrel sorta?

iantimothy Posted: Jun 21st 2010

I would say..... more than the squirrel, but maybe a little bit less than the caterpillar.

iantimothy Posted: Jun 21st 2010

iantimothy Posted: Jun 21st 2010

Yeah I know! I always have fun animating...... even what I have to animate tomorrow......... It will be BY FAR!!! the most things ever moving at once... not exactly sure how many but probably 2 or 3 times more than anything I have done before

Beaver Creek Five, Scene two, Take one, frame ninety-two.... Action....... and cut!

shaun the lamb Posted: Jun 23rd 2010

Ian, if I may call you that. If it's not too much trouble could you upload the finished Beaver Creek 5 episode here please? I can't get on YouTube anymore and it's because of proxy. Though I am curious who this new charector is... I'm assuming it's a frog?

iantimothy Posted: Jun 23rd 2010

Well I have to finish it first but, do you mean put it on here as a file here on the forum? or put it on the creations contest? And all I will tell you is your assumption is wrong.

iantimothy Posted: Jun 23rd 2010

And yes, I prefer to be called Ian. :D

iantimothy Posted: Jun 23rd 2010

Alright Folks I wanna ask a question.... I am sure some of you haven't noticed, but I would like to see if anyone has a preference. In Beaver Creek 2 the music, in the actual episode not the theme song was banjo, in episode 4 other than the theme song and twigs playing, the music was mandolin... I would like to see which one you like better.
Here is episode 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4vqo8-F4hs&feature=related
here is episode 4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tp4C06p2D-A
remember not the theme song, or when twigs is playing, just the background music.

Clay Fighter Posted: Jun 24th 2010

Ian, you have given the link to episode 4 twice... ;)
But I like the music from episode four more...it sounds more...'peaceful'
:D

iantimothy Posted: Jun 24th 2010

my bad... its fixed.

shaun the lamb Posted: Jun 24th 2010

I mean can you please upload the finished file here please?

iantimothy Posted: Jun 24th 2010

Sure STL!

Can't wait! Only 3 minutes and 94 seconds left to be shot am I right?

iantimothy Posted: Jun 24th 2010

I never know exactly but probably less than that... I don't like going to far above six minutes. This one will probably be about five. maybe five and a half.

shaun the lamb Posted: Jun 24th 2010

What software are you using for Beaver Creek?

iantimothy Posted: Jun 24th 2010

I am on a mac, and I use iStopmotion

http://www.boinx.com/istopmotion/overview/

Clay Fighter Posted: Jun 25th 2010

ooohh.... Does this mean that their will be the first female character??
Or is Amy voicing a male?

iantimothy Posted: Jun 25th 2010

can't say. :D

like is said, there are not voiceing characters exactly, if I tell you what it is it will give to much away.

shaun the lamb Posted: Jun 25th 2010

Is it a badger or a Swan/ Goose?

iantimothy Posted: Jun 25th 2010

can't tell y'all. :D

I will torment you for another month and a half.

iantimothy Posted: Jun 26th 2010

still getting a lot done.I have about two minutes 25 seconds. Today I finish with on of the very tricky parts... Like I said... I had a lot moving at once... about 25 things moving...every frame.... for a long time.... EVERY FRAME!! :'(

on the bright side... it looks really good. and I finish with it today!!!!

iantimothy Posted: Jun 29th 2010

Today was sort of a preparation day (yeah... sure...) I finished the second scene yesterday and am going to start scene 4 tomorrow. today I looked over scripts and audio (not much... mostly played with my trains) I should be ready to shoot tomorrow because I got a lot done today (yeah... on my trains...)

so... yeah... I didn't get too much done today on Beaver Creek... but hey... doesn't every animator need a day in-between scenes to play with his toy trains.

not sure exactly how long I have.... I would say probably anywhere between 2:30 and 2:45
so I have gotten some mighty good progress.

ajmole Posted: Jun 29th 2010

You will definitely finish by August!

iantimothy Posted: Jun 30th 2010

I am positive of that now... I was a little doubtful at first... but yeah... no doubt!

crackingtoast Posted: Jun 30th 2010

On the music,I think I rather Mandolin. Though I think it sounds too subtle,It could be a bit louder.

iantimothy Posted: Jun 30th 2010

yeah... it sounds louder in my original files... youtube just kills audio... I am going to make it louder this time.

and harry... not quite... almost...

harryboy8080 Posted: Jun 30th 2010
:D

thetopbun Posted: Jun 30th 2010

So... Ian... In the video of you talking about science and animation, were you the one moving the model or doing that random stuff with the cardboard and also doing the voice?

iantimothy Posted: Jun 30th 2010

yep, that's me.

iantimothy Posted: Jul 2nd 2010

I shot something pretty difficult yesterd'y, today should be a bit easier. but first I am fixin' to go to Hobby Town USA. I have never been, it's supposed to be really good.

mmasonghi studios Posted: Jul 2nd 2010

Makes me think of a beach boys song ha! :D
We'll all be planning out a route
We're gonna take real soon
We're waxing down our surfboards
We can't wait for June
We'll all be gone for the summer
We're on surf-ari to stay
Tell the teacher we're surfin'
hobby town USA. :D
HAHAHAHAHA!|-)

iantimothy Posted: Jul 2nd 2010

It was a great store. I went completely un-animation related. I needed some more track for my train... :D

I am still a-workin' away. haven't gotten too much done so far about 4 seconds hope to get about 7.

iantimothy Posted: Jul 3rd 2010

Got to shoot somethin' pretty fun today, tomorrow I get to so something a little bit different, should be fun though.

Nathan M Posted: Jul 7th 2010

Beavers creek is amazing!!

iantimothy Posted: Jul 12th 2010

I started shooting a scene with Drake this mornin' and the first frame, I move his head and his neck snaps off.... so....... His new head and neck is drying now, it will be done in a few minutes and I can start shooting again. that neck lasted longer than I though... I made that version of Drake for the 3rd episode... so he lasted 2 1/2 episodes. This one will be the third Drake to appear in Beaver Creek now.

RIP Drake V.2

mmasonghi studios Posted: Jul 12th 2010
