Clay Fighter Posted: Jul 4th 2010

hahahaha!
I never understood fourth of july...
I always knew it was some American thing..
I hate it when English people think they are bigger than Us( as in me and any other australian on here) Australians because they 'Found' Us!

iantimothy Posted: Jul 4th 2010

yeah, that "some American thing" is one of our biggest holidays, It is always hard for me to sleep because of all the fireworks goin' off.

shaun the lamb Posted: Jul 4th 2010

Ahem!...CF....

ajmole Posted: Jul 4th 2010

I hope we can see the fireworks better from our new house! If not, then we can walk over the school nearby and watch the fireworks from there. :D

kldceltic Posted: Jul 4th 2010

what about fish ian;)

harryboy8080 Posted: Jul 4th 2010

Lets sing a song.....

If tomorrow all the things were gone I’d worked for all my life,
And I had to start again with just my children and my wife.
I’d thank my lucky stars to be living here today,
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom and they can’t take that away.

And I’m proud to be an American where as least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A.

From the lakes of Minnesota, to the hills of Tennessee,
across the plains of Texas, from sea to shining sea,

From Detroit down to Houston and New York to LA,
Well, there’s pride in every American heart,
and it’s time to stand and say:

I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A

Happy 4th July, you guys (even though I'm not American)!

iantimothy Posted: Jul 4th 2010

ajmole, the folks behind our house always do these really big elaborate fireworks, and we can see em perfectly, the dogs aint to fond of em though.

iantimothy Posted: Jul 4th 2010

here is some patriotic music

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0ywDLpfBHg this is your standard patriotic song (english should regognize the tune)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDA9NbPAK8o what's better than the muppets?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1NR2K-gazo national anthem... not really much more to say than that

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjTsfIYeDsI this one's for me, but hey i think it is still patriotic.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LINsNCaxZ5U America the beautiful (sung with english accents????)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwHvyqNDUvE Yankee doodle

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZhHdKmKXqA when johnny comes marching home, a civil war song (not my favorite, but hey, still patriotic, I think the rebels had better songs than the yanks)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ccQ6cT-9kk battle cry of freedom (pretty bouncy)

harryboy8080 Posted: Jul 4th 2010

Ian.... there should be 50 wallace's on your flag! :D That would take forever......
Did you know the 13 stripes stand for the 13 original colonies?

iantimothy Posted: Jul 4th 2010

yeah I thought 50 might take too long, and yep I did know that!

ajmole Posted: Jul 4th 2010

At school when we would have to sing along with the 'God Bless the USA', it would be the person who wrote the song singing it. He sounded like Danny Gokey to some people, so we called it the Danny Gokey song! :D

iantimothy Posted: Jul 4th 2010

proof that I Kentucky is in the south.... In preschool we had to sing "I wish I was in Dixie" I still know every single word to this day.... yeah even the obscure verses about "buckwheat cake and Indian butter, that make you fat a little fatter"
