WALLACE & GROMIT CHAT » EVER SEEN THIS?
In my 12 years of Catholic school I have seen a "Lot" (Biblical Pun there!) of Jesus movies..... from "King of Kings" to "Jesus Christ Superstar."
But! I stumbled upon this on YouTube a few days ago, I have never seen anything like this. The movie is called "The Miracle Maker", and this is really one of the most amazing films I have ever seen. it was made in 2000, i think. If you haven't seen it, The whole thing is on YouTube, and I definitely suggest you watch it, or at least some of it.
Except for the hand-drawn flashbacks, it is ALL stop motion, FRAME BY FRAME, not only that, it is incredibly detailed, and very smooth and lifelike.
I can't even imagine how the animators kept track of every move. And the flashbacks are really well done too! it is actual hand drawn animation which you don't see any more. Not only that, there is almost no liberties taken, everything is almost word for word from the gospels, something not often done in movies.
I rented the DVD, and watched the behind the scenes, The stop motion was animated in Moscow, and even more amazing still, is that it was not done digitally!
The sets and characters were relatively small, the puppets looked about 8 inches tall, so they werent very big for as detailed as they are.
and you should also recognize the voice of Jesus....... none other than Ralph Fiennes, the voice of Victor Quartermaine in CotWR
Not only is it "the greatest story ever told" (biblical film pun) I think it is one of the best animated films I have ever seen, and very under-rated, considering i had never heard of it. This is definitely one of my new favorite movies.

yes i've seen it on TBN awesome detail
I agree with you iantimothy -- this is a remarkable film that everyone should experience in their lifetime.
I've never seen it on TV, which is too bad, definitely seems overlooked. I guess it is just too politically incorrect.

WOW are the people in that movie made with clay
no, i think, it is a silicon kind of thing, and the faces are plastic with replaceable mouths (the behind the scenes was good!)
Do you know who the actors are?![]()
The guy who plays Jesus is the same guy who plays Victor Quartermain in "Curse of the Were-Rabbit" and he plays Voldemort in Harry Potter 4-7.
Voldermort to Jesus, a bit of a contrast :P
not sure if you can have two more different people really!
