Shaun the Sheep has come a long way since his TV debut in A Close Shave and now he's getting his own movie!

It was announced today that Aardman have teamed up with STUDIOCANAL to produce and distribute the Shaun the Sheep movie.  It will be created in the iconic stop-motion style of the animated TV show, with series creator Richard ‘Golly’ Starzak on board alongside Mark Burton as writer and directors.

We can’t give away too much of the plot at this stage, but we can say this: when Shaun’s mischief inadvertently causes the Farmer to leave Mossybottom Farm, it’s up to Shaun, Bitzer and the flock to go to the big city and rescue him, setting the scene for an epic adventure!

Even More Shaun!
Aardman will be going into production on the 4th series of Shaun the Sheep this year, with 20 brand new and exciting adventures set for release in early 2014!

Look out for more news on series 4 and Shaun’s movie coming soon and don’t forget to sign up to Shaun’s newsletter for all the latest updates!

Very cool, when is the approximate release? It will be interesting to see if it will have dialogue or be just like the show with just sounds. Ok think it could be an interesting bold move to do a movie with no dialogue, although it would be very difficult.

Is this the first feature for Golly?

Extremely exciting, I remember when Curse Of the Were Rabbit was on the big screen. It was a large expectation of me to be at the movies to see W&G on the big screen. Now we're going to see Shaun... Hurray! Well, I better "pretend" to be impatient.

lad :O

If they are starting production now, then based on how long the pirates took, hopefully it will take about 2 years.
