Animation pioneer Ray Harryhausen died today in London at the age of 92. Ray was one of the great (if not the greatest) pioneer of stop motion animation. His career brought us some of the greatest moments in the history of cinema, all while making stop motion into what it is today.

I would highly doubt that Aardman and other studios like it would exist if not for Harryhausen. I know for certain I would not be doing animation if it wasn't for him.

Farewell Ray
