Hi guys. Squigly, you are correct. Gromitlove, I'm going to Florida THIS Tuesday, but thanks for being thoughtful. Squigly, yes, I do love that Alvin and the Chipmunks movie and I know it came out in April 1st for you lucky Americans. It comes out on the 14th April for us. Darn.;)

Fish Posted: Apr 5th 2008

Here is a picture of Ralphie climbing the ladder!:D

Fish Posted: Apr 5th 2008

Hre is a picture of Ralphie when he first joined our family.

gromitlove Posted: Apr 5th 2008

Lovely fellow! I read that goldens retrievers were bred as circus dogs in Russia, so if that's true there'd be a tendency to agility and good balance.

squigly Posted: Apr 5th 2008

Hi gromitlove! That's an interesting bit of information about goldies.

Fish, how far up the ladder can Ralphie go? Thank you for sharing his puppy pic too. Awww, he looks so cuddly!

Sharkie, you'll be on holiday when the Chipmunks movie comes out. I guess you'll have to wait until you get back to the UK to buy it as the US versions probably won't play where you live. That's too bad because it would be cheaper for you in the US with the dollar conversion rate being in your favor.

Mark the shark Posted: Apr 6th 2008

Great pics, Fish. Yes, Squigly, I suppose I will. That will drive me insane. I LOVE that movie! :D

gromitlove Posted: Apr 6th 2008

"What's it all about---------- Ralphie?"

Fish Posted: Apr 6th 2008

Good one, gromitlove!:D You are right about Goldens being part Russian circus dogs. What I've read is they are a blend of Russian circus dogs and blood hounds. I can see the blood hound in Ralphie more than in our first Golden, Cubby.

Squigly, Ralphie would have gone up the ladder the entire way if we had let him.:O We ended up tying him so he could reach the ladder, but only go up a rung or two. He finally settled down OK - probably because he could both hear and see us on the roof.

Safe travel, Sharkie my friend!

Josephine Posted: Apr 8th 2008

Sorry I've been absent, dear friends. I've been a little busy for the past day or so... and clearly, there's a lot of catching up to do.

Well, gromitlove - homework gives Nutmeg Blue the botty burps but I make sure she gets a balanced diet...by tying her feed bowl to a tightrope (cue tumbleweed) and that when she is a good girl, she gets a biccie bone (a biscuit shaped like a bone).

Nutmeg B just gives me that look as if to say: WHO? MOI? when she has emitted noxious gas...

Squigly - oh, yes! Conty/Cinders1 Meg, too! Wouldn't it make a cracking photoshoot...all the Megs in one basket. One for the album, , lad!

And how about your Ralphie, Fish! Awwwwwww, doggie! He's was a lovely cute puppy, wasn't he? Doesn't he remind you of when he was blowing out the candle for his birthday in that picture? Awwwww! It's hard to believe that wee ball of fluff growing up into that fine bundle of fun climbing the ladder! They are beautiful pictures indeed, Fish, and thanks for showing them to us!

When you were on the roof of the church, did you have a good chat with the priest before you went home? I hope you did and that he didn't scold you...

It is true that you can see the world in a different way from a height...

Arnymate - here's a take on the Bob Marley song...

We're lambin'!
lambin'! lambin'!
Hope 'like lambin', too - we're lambin'!!!

And the Carpenters...

We're on the TUP of the world
Lookin' down on creation
and the only explanation I can find...
Is that Ralphie is there
with his tail up in the air
He's just put me on the TUP of the world...

Fish Posted: Apr 8th 2008

Ralphie was so pleased when I told him you put him in a song, Josephine! :D

Did you see the birthday card I sent you? It's on the Cinders birthday thread I think.

squigly Posted: Apr 9th 2008

teehee...sockeye, i think conty/cinders' Meg would need her own basket. or she might only be able to fit a single paw in there.;)

gromitlove Posted: Apr 10th 2008

Hi anti-pesto, what a very BIG cat you have! Or is it the camera angle? The mouse's eye view? But your cat looks very friendly too .

Fish Posted: Apr 14th 2008

I miss mark the Shark! I hope he is having a wonderful holiday!

I like your cat, anti-pesto. Thanks for posting the picture. :D

conty Posted: Apr 14th 2008

dont worry fish, theres still a few of us left that can chear you along, i had loads of threads to catch up on as weve been away but i love the pics of your dog (ralfie i think you called him) he looks so cute as a puppy and looks like hes trying to lend a helping hand up the ladder too hehe;) oh and meg has a bed that mum made her as we couldnt find one large enough for her, and its massive!!!! although not big enough for me hehe;)

Fish Posted: Apr 14th 2008

Thanks, Conty! :D Yes, Ralphie was a great "help" with the roofing project!

Ralphie has chewed a hole in every bed we've ever made for him or bought for him. But he has never chewed on the couch....his favorite resting spot! :D

conty Posted: Apr 14th 2008

i hope hes not chewed your bed too!!!:O kane our old dog even chewed the plaster off the walls in our old cottage but he grew out of it:) is that a your cabin in the pic it looks lovely, looks a lovely place to live, it looks very quiet:)

Fish Posted: Apr 14th 2008

Ralphie only chews our socks and towels - and his own bed. Other than that he never does any damage at all. I don't know why he chews what he does...but it is only a minor problem most days. :)

conty Posted: Apr 14th 2008

fffeeewww had visions of you sleeping on the floor!!!!;)

gromitlove Posted: Apr 14th 2008

Ralphie chews socks? :O Oh well, no one's perfect... I suppose he supposes that toeses are roses.
I just noticed that his shadow in his puppy picture is sky-blue...

wghtmf Posted: Apr 15th 2008

Hello

squigly Posted: Apr 15th 2008

...and his hook tail is sooo cute.

can't let ralphie near sockeye's & sock collection. maybe he only chews on fluffy things?

hmmmm, nutmeg blue must be eating sockeye's homework again!:-|

conty Posted: Apr 15th 2008

i bet shes having fun whatever shes upto, she cracks me up!!!:)

Fish Posted: Apr 15th 2008

Sockeye seems to disappear on weekends, then return midweek. Must be her job keeps her busy for blocks of time like that - or she must travel.

Fish Posted: Apr 15th 2008

Ralphie chewed one of my favorite W&G socks once! :'( I got so upset he hasn't damaged any more of my socks - though he likes to pick one up in his mouth from time to time, and dash to the other side of the house. He thinks it's a great way to get me to "play" with him! :D

squigly Posted: Apr 17th 2008

dogs are so funny and cute! were you able to salvage the & socks?

Fish Posted: Apr 17th 2008

I did salvage them, squigly, with a bit of creative darning...

squigly Posted: Apr 18th 2008

oh darn, again! too bad you can't just patch up the holes with some W&G patches. that would be so cute. :)

Mark the shark Posted: May 2nd 2008

Mark the shark Posted: May 2nd 2008

York was fabulous! Been to the York Dungeons? Terrifying! However, the water is more peaceful. But not for long! SPLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Fish Posted: May 2nd 2008

Not the dungeons, no. But I've been up on the city wall, which was neat. And shopped in the Shambles - and cased out the Viking museum!8)

Mark the shark Posted: May 2nd 2008

Yeah, those were great! ;)

PoisonIvy Posted: May 9th 2008

We have two rats, a guinea pig and an axolotl.

We've had lots of guinea pigs in the past, and a few rats, and one other axolotl.

We had three guinea pigs a couple of months ago, but a python got into their and ate two.

:O

arthur 2 Posted: May 10th 2008

wow. must have a lot of pets to loook after:)

Mark the shark Posted: May 10th 2008

Cool.:D

PoisonIvy Posted: May 13th 2008

They were eaten by a PYTHON.

PoisonIvy Posted: May 13th 2008

Hehehe, you'd be good at it. :D

hallamorr1 Posted: May 20th 2008

666joshy666 Posted: May 20th 2008

Here are my cats! Instead of eating my homework, they use it as a toy and rip it to bits!
