We've teamed up with the Intellectual Property Office again this year to bring Aardman fans some new Cracking Ideas challenges to take part in, with some fantastic prizes up for grabs! The competition ties in with Aardman's 40th birthday, which happens later this year.
With the help of Wallace and Gromit, Morph, Shaun the Sheep and Timmy, youngsters aged 4-16 are being given the opportunity to develop their creative ideas to help celebrate this landmark occasion.
Who is the competition for?
There is a dedicated competition for three age categories, each of which ties in with a favourite Aardman character (4-7 - Shaun/Timmy, 8-11 - Wallace and Gromit, 12-16 - Morph). You can enter the competition individually or as a group (through your school, nursery or youth group, for example)
How to take part in the Wallace and Gromit competition
The Wallace and Gromit-themed challenge is open to 8-11 year-olds and involves creating a very special birthday surprise for the duo. They want to hold their celebrations somewhere special...space! But how will they get there? It's your challenge to create the story of their birthday surprise as a storyboard. Show how your story came to life and if you have time you could also turn your storyboard into a film!
Use the resource pack on the Cracking Ideas website to help you out - you'll find a rocket building activity to try and everything you need to start storyboarding. The competition closes on the 22nd July 2016.
When you're happy with your birthday surprise story board, you can submit your entry online or in the post. One winning entry will receive a visit from an Aardman expert for a model making workshop session and screening at your school, plus a multi-user licence for the Animate It! software by Kudlian!
