Wallace and Gromit's Grand Appeal has reached a very happy milestone! It's celebrating its 21st birthday as well as having raised an incredible £40 million for Bristol Children's Hospital!
The charity was founded in 1995 to build a new children's hospital in Bristol, with Wallace and Gromit spearheading the fundraising. Since that time, Aardman has continued to support the charity, through events such as the Gromit Unleashed and Shaun in the City trails, as well as Wrong Trousers Day and The Big Bake.
Thanks to the sterling efforts of the Grand Appeal charity and the incredible generosity of the public, vital funds hve been raised to buy life-saving medical equipment and pioneering new facilities. Money has also been raised to make the hospital a child-friendly, fun environment, so young patients can enjoy specially designed playrooms and access to special therapies during their stay in hospital.
